Capitol Hill MAFA: Mixed Martial Arts and Jiu-Jistu for Women and Children

May 31, 2011 |  by  |  Activity Ideas

Capitol Hill Marital Arts and Fitness Academy, or MAFA as it is known locally, is a one of a kind martial arts studio.

Run by two talented martial artists, MAFA is dedicated to the education of women and children, a demographic typically an afterthought for studios of this kind. I spent the day with the owners, Rita Floyd and Nyjah Easton, this month during the Alumni Wellness weekend in DC, and I’ll tell you these ladies are nothing less than professional experts.

When you’re in DC next, look up MAFA to attend one of their various fitness or self defense classes and tell them Be Moore sent you 🙂

  1. Hey Brydan,
Your social media is fantastic! I was searching something about body weight and alumniwellness popped up on the side.

I think you’re doing a terrific job bringing so many to new ways of eating. I also like the spotlight on mixed martial arts and the fitness academy.

    Happy holidays!
