Hiking the Billy Goat Trail in Great Falls Park #DMV #Hike

Saturday night: it’s a cookout. The food is incredible, drinks are flowing (the adult kind), the conversations are hilarious, and the fun continues into the early Sunday MORNING hours.

As ALWAYS however, Be has a plan: “Let’s go hiking in the morning!”

“Yeah, right!!!”

About FIVE hours later, were headed to Potomac, MD to tackle Section A of the Billy Goat Trail, a scenic hike along the Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Canal. While I like to jokingly complain about exercising and how much I can’t stand it, I’m always up for a unique physical challenge, and getting out of the monotony of the gym.

I ended up getting an awesome workout in, seeing some beautiful sights, and having a great time with my friends all at once. If I had it to do all over again though, I would have worn some more appropriate shoes, and I wouldn’t have stayed up as late the night before!

The Scenery.

Be SURE to wear shoes appropriate for your activity. Can you guess who had the idea to go hiking?

The park is full of large rock obstacles making this a particularly challenging and fun day.

What’s cool about doing what you love to do is that you meet like minded people along the way.

This was one of the more notable obstacles. Fun fun fun.

As soon as we finished we headed to get a few good eats. This place in Silver Spring was perfect.

Of course if there is one thing we KNOW how to do, that’s RECOVER! Here is our recovery room for the day. A rooftop oasis.
