Have you ever heard the saying “You can’t outrun a bad diet?”
Well think about it. We may spend 5-7 hours a week working out, plus maybe a few bike rides, runs, or pick-up games, and that’s if we’re being REALLY GOOD. That just leaves the other other 150+ hours per week to sleep, eat, and dream about donuts.
Without addressing the fact that MOST of our day isn’t spent pushing the wheel, the truth is fat loss is something most will not achieve naturally or maintain long term. Working out and expecting long term gains in performance, health and looks without addressing our nutritional needs is a losing battle. But as Blade put it best…
Well Craig Ballentine and crew set out to prove the point in this video: Diet vs. Exercise. Watch as they demonstrate simultaneously how easy it is to take in bad calories, and how hard it can be to work them off.
The majority of our body recomposition results will come as a result of our nutritional choices.
Will Smith memorably said “You don’t have to GET read, if you STAY ready.” Try to find ways to replace empty calories with foods that will fuel your body’s needs. Swap brown rice for breads and pastas, or even better learn to prepare a greater variety of vegetables in ways that you enjoy.
